These children’s commercially manufactured helmets were sold in catalogs during the 30’s and sold for less than a dollar at that time. While most are encountered dented, with paint loss, missing liners and scraped decals, this is an excellent example we have in this offering. It does the cloth liner in the interior as well as the chinstrap as shown. And it looks as if the young soldier’s father perhaps painted the designation of his very own Wehrmacht unit which he was serving at the time, on the interior skirt of this little helmet; 4./P.A.
