Cased Iron Cross 2nd Class by Gustav Brehmer – M492

Offering a nice Iron Cross 2nd Class manufactured by the famous Gustav Brehmer awards firm. The set consists of the medal, award ribbon, and a private purchase/special award case which came out of an old collection prior to sitting in mine for quite a while. This gorgeous cross has light patina with a beautiful silver frame and outstanding black core. The ribbon ring is marked with the number 13, indicating that this Iron Cross was produced by the awards firm of Gustav Brehmer. This cross is accompanied by a folded short ribbon which remains in new condition and has a single stitch in the center. Completing this set is a red velvet lined case. The velvet was fitted for an Iron Cross and a separation divider for the ribbon. All the hardware is functional and what you expect to see with a period construction case. While it does show some wear age and scuffs, it still remains very presentable. This is a very desirable EK II and then add in a unique case and this quickly becomes a highlight of any collection.
