Army Officer’s Dagger by WKC – D795

This is a decent war time produced Heer officer’s dagger which was manufactured by the WKC firm. The Trolon grip is in excellent condition, void of any cracks, splits, or missing material. It has turned an attractive mustard yellow color throughout in it’s entirety. The recognizable crossguard featuring the so called tomahawk beak eagle, is a characteristic which collectors identify with this particular manufacture. As with the pommel and ferrule, a nice undisturbed patina has darkened the surface of all three of these components.

The scabbard to this dagger is textbook WKC all the way. It’s shell is perfectly straight, void of any bends, creases or splits. Additionally, down both sides of this sheath quite a bit of the factory lacquer still covers those areas. Both scabbard bands are in place, and hold the hanger rings properly. Finally, a characteristic that collectors often associate with this edge weapon firm, is the single side screw which holds the throat in place.

We finish up this description with the blade, and it’s a decent example. Full length, void of any buffing, pits, sharpening, or tipping, the blade is in good condition overall. Shown in the photos is some light surface age that is not all that bad. We as collectors have certainly seen much worse in the past. On the reverse is the knight’s head logo of a Solingen well known during the 3rd Reich, WKC.
