Army Officer’s Dagger by Eickhorn – D896

There is one thing about the edged weapons which the Eickhorn firm manufactured during the 3rd Reich; no matter what time frame during the era of production, they always manage to put out a quality product. Here is an example of that.

A beautiful light pumpkin orange grip begins the description of this Heer officer’s dagger. It is in excellent condition, being void of any chips, cracks, or missing Trolon material. The outstretched eagle crossguard displays fantastic detail, and is all toned dark with an undisturbed patina over it’s surface. It gives off just a hint of the silver wash which it once had when first new. Both the ferrule and pommel components also have taken on that same dark rich patina, setting off a striking contrast to the grip on this attractive hilt assembly.

A fantastic scabbard accompanies this army officer’s dagger. It remains perfectly straight, void of any hits, dent, or creases. The same black surface patina as that of the hilt components, covers the shell of this scabbard entirely. Just barely at the very top once again you can see the slight frosting to a small upper section at the throat. Finally, both textbook scabbard bands are in place and hold the hanger rings properly.

As for the blade on this baby? Take a gander at the photos and you tell me what the description should read
