Army Officer’s Dagger by Alcoso – D910

For the collector that likes that untouched look all the way through with their daggers, here you go!

This dagger is equip with a Galalith handle which was used late in the production period by a few makers during the 3rd Reich era. Many times these grips exhibit quite a bit of surface cracking, this one seems not all that bad overall. The material is decent and void of any major chips or fractures. The fittings on the hilt of this dagger are absolutely gorgeous. As all 3 components have taken on a totally black patina over their surfaces. A textbook small neck  diameter pommel common for this manufacture can be seen in the photos, as well as the desirable high lift sculptured eagle crossguard. Typical for these war time produced Alcoso Heers with these grips, at times the pommels can be very tight or even seized to the tang. It’s nice that this example the hilt is all properly tight, with the pommel which is free and holds all firmly.

The scabbard to this dagger is absolutely black as all get out, exactly matching the crossguard, ferrule, and pommel. It remains straight, void of any bends, dings, or creases. Both scabbard bands are in place, and hold the hanger rings properly.

Finally the blade. It is full length, void of any tipping, sharpening, polishing or cutting edge chips. There is a little bit of surface age here and there. But hey, this blade like ever other component on this dagger has remained untouched for nearly 80 years. On the reverse is the 4th trademark design that the Alcoso firm used on the edged weapons which they produced during the era.

A nice solid Army, all untouched.   SOLD
