Aluminum SS Belt Buckle by Sieper – B184

These aluminum SS buckles are always tough to find in decent condition. It wasn’t so much as being strong enough to hold up to the equipment which a soldier carried on his belt, as it was the fact of surface wear usually associated with this light weight metal that they were constructed from.  Here is a nice example in this offering.

Not only has the silver paint held up decent on this buckle, but the detail to the eagle, wreath, swastika, and lettering is extremely well preserved. As shown, the obverse remains uncleaned, with dirt and grime in the recesses of the design. On the reverse the prong bar and catch are intact, and both function fine. In relief at one end is the manufacturing code for the Sieper buckle firm: RZM 822/38 SS.  This is a very nice aluminum example. SOLD
