Allgemeine SS Armband – C293

This is an early example of an Allgemeine SS brassard, worn during the era on black tunics and greatcoats alike. While the dark red wool body shows age consistent with wear, it is not all that detracting per se’. Both upper and lower black stripes are evenly as well as properly sewn in a dual stitch line pattern which you always want to see on period examples. At the reverse the lower black strip has a period repair that I tried to show in a photos by outlining the area. Additionally, the inside of that same section has a strip of red fabric which was used to reinforce the same area. The reverse of the armband is folded and seamed together, as this item certainly shows that it was worn during the early pre-war years of the infamous era. As a nice touch the original factory cloth RZM tag is still intact on the inside, and opposite where the off white ribbed disc is sewn to the obverse.  A neat early example with character, and desirable cloth RZM tag.
