Model 40 Single Decal Heer by ET – H235
This is a nice straight forward and untouched 3rd Reich M40 single decal army helmet. While displaying a hard combat look to it, the exterior of the size 64 marked shell still depicts fine factory period enamel to the surface. Nothing has been cleaned or oiled, while exhibiting an attractive muted patina which collectors love to see. The all-important decal remains in beautiful condition overall, being set pretty much straight and centered to the vent hole. The inside shows a heavy buildup of dust surrounding the line band, which is held in place by 3 straight untouched rivet pins and their corresponding washers. As for the leather, it remains supple, void of any tears, or insect / rodent damage. Finally, the original drawstring can be seen in place, and the full-length marked chinstrap as well.
