Mint Full Rohm SA Honor Dagger by Wusthof – D1260

Oh boy………where does one start with the description of such a rare and desirable edged weapon as the one in this offering. It will probably be brief, as the photos say it way better than I can. Every component of this Wusthof SA is near mint. The dagger must have been so cherished by the recipient who was presented with this edged weapon, that undoubtedly, he just put it away for safe keeping exactly as it is shown today. Here we go!

The smooth dark chocolate brown grip typical of this manufacture remains in gorgeous condition throughout. It is void so much of anything that would be considered an imperfection or a mar. Both the nickel silver eagle as well as the SA runic emblem are excellent condition and have been set flush and straight with precision within the wood. The top and bottom crossguards are smooth to the touch, exhibiting an undisturbed patina over their surfaces. The hardware hugs the grip to a tee!

The scabbard to this gorgeous Rohm SA honor dagger is a thing of beauty! This shell is straight, void of any bends, splits, dings, or creases. The period chemical brown oxide finish is absolutely the best, rating 98%. If that isn’t enough for you, the period protective clear lacquer is nearly the same! We in the collecting community, with few exceptions, ever encounter any kind of early SA dagger with such an exceptionally preserved scabbard as what you are seeing here. Both upper and lower fittings have taken on the same muted surface as the hilt hardware and match it to a tee. There are a couple taps to the ball on the lower chape, that is about it. 

As for the blade……………a total SCREAMER!
