Army Officer’s Dagger by Alcoso – D1244
This mid period Heer dagger manufactured by Alcoso is equipped with the 3rd ,out of 5 trademarks which this edged weapon firm utilized during their army production. The light orange Trolon grip remains in good condition and appears to be void of any damage to the material. Both the pommel as well as the crossguard have taken on an undisturbed patina, as nothing has been cleaned on this edged weapon since being returned as a souvenir from WWII. Wrapped around the hilt is an early thin cord portapee which came on this dagger when purchased. The knot shows some wear and age as shown in the photos.
A decent silver-plated scabbard accompanies this dagger. In lieu of a small lower reverse surface depression, the shell remains in pretty good condition. The dark patina nicely matches the hilt components to a tee. Both scabbard bands are in place and hold the hanger rings properly. 2 flat head screws secure the throat.
As for the blade, it’s about as nice as they get!
A nice 3rd Reich army dagger, with excellent appeal. $750.00
