Early Storm Trooper’s Dagger by Sauer – D1238

Though the SA’s produced by the JP Sauer firm are listed fairly common on the rarity list, the condition of this one puts it in a different category. Have a peek.

A beautiful handle begins the description of the hilt of this fine looking SA dagger. It’s laden with light and lots of dark grain throughout both sides, with the wood being in truly wonderful condition. That appearance is also accented by the thinner rocker shape lower crossguard that this firm chose to use for their hardware. With that said, the grip emblems are about as nice as you will encounter on one of these early political daggers. Both upper and lower crossguards are smooth, and have taken on an undisturbed patina over their surfaces and lacking any gau mark as this was probably an awarded or gifted piece.

An excellent scabbard accompanies this dagger. It is straight, void of any major hits or dings. Both upper and lower fittings are in excellent shape, and about as nice as you will see on one of these early nickel silver SA’s. The fittings are tight to the shell, and held solid by 4 untouched factory dome head screws.

Lastly the blade: It’s a screamer as there is not much more else that can be said.
