2nd Model Luft Dagger by WKC – D1210
Offering a 2nd pattern Luftwaffe officer’s dagger in very nice condition. But more importantly with a dark red grip which most collectors love to encounter. The Trolon material remains in fantastic condition, void of any chips, splits, or fractures. The color is absolutely gorgeous as you can attest to from the photos. The decorative springy coils show some slight separation only to the exterior wrap of the internal thicker wire in some sections, though nothing has come lose nor repaired. The hardware consisting of the pommel, ferrule, and crossguard all have taken on a rich patina over their surfaces which displays beautifully. Everything is nice and tight on this hilt, with the pommel facing the front / back proper positions.
An excellent scabbard accompanies this WKC Luft dagger. The shell remains mostly straight, with just an extremely minor tweak at the very tip ( barely worth mentioning). Like the hilt components, the shell has a rich patina over its surface, as nothing has been clean nor polished on this edged weapon. Both scabbard band are tight to the shell and hold the hanger rings properly. The throat is held by a single side screw which is a trademark for the WKC edged weapon firm.
The blade to this 2nd model remains straight, full length, drawn to a needle point tip, and void of any sharpening, tipping, or cutting-edge chips. There are few minor surface imperfections, though honestly not nearly all that detracting. A nice blade to such an attractive Luft in this overall untouched condition.
