SS Officer’s Buckle by Overhoff – B215

It’s a challenge at times to locate a nice SS officer’s belt buckle for a person’s collection, let alone a wartime example with this much original finish as the one in this offering. Constructed out of a fine zinc alloy, these later buckle for the most part not only easily lost their factory finish, but also quite often are found broken. That said, the one in this listing is one of the few that you’ll encounter void of those 2 issues. Exhibiting light surface wear in a couple spots, it’s about as nice as you’re apt to find in one of these later Overhoff desirable SS officer’s buckles. The reverse catch section remains crimped super tight, unlike so many others which collectors usually encounter. Additionally, nice clear stamps are shown on that component. You can see the 36/43 stamp in the photo, which I believe is the last year of production of these buckles from this firm. Lastly, the roller pin keeper is intact, as is the prong bar itself. A very nice example, that you just don’t see in this desirable condition all that often. $2695.00
