Luftwaffe Flak Badge by Juncker – M529

This is an excellent early Tombak produced Luft flak badge, initially introduced in January of 1941, with the first contracts being awarded to the prestigious award firm of C.E. Juncker. Throughout the production timeframe this firm made approximately 11 different changes to this particular proficiency badge, both in design as well as material construction. The one in this offering is the very first in this companies’ production run, and so-called the J1 design. As you can see, the exterior has taken on a rich dark patina which has nearly turned totally black throughout. On the reverse all of the hardware to include the hinge, pin, and catch are firmly in place, and function just fine. The center of the badge is stamped; C.E. Juncker, Berlin SW.
