Ground Rohm SS Dagger by Boker – D1135

Certainly, the top of the desirably list when it comes to early nickel silver M33 SS daggers, is the name Boker. And that all has to do with a couple of factors. The first being the jet-black burnished Meine Ehre heist Treue  blade motto that this firm was noted for. And in addition to that trait, it is the overall quality of these gorgeous daggers which draw collectors to them. Here’s a sweet example in this offering.

The grip to this fine early SS daggers is as nice as you’re apt to encounter on any so-called Model M33’s. The “ebony” wood is just a pleasure to study on this early nickel silver SS dagger. That is because rarely are these 90-year-old edged weapons ever observed with such a wonderfully preserved handle as shown on the hilt of this Boker. Both the nickel silver eagle as well as the SS runes button have been expertly set with precision, both straight and flush to the wood. As for the hardware, the unique shape tells the collectors that the fittings are the in-house variety which was mostly used by this edged weapon firm. They remain with smooth surfaces, and have taken on a muted as well as dull un-cleaned appearance. The entire hilt of this Boker SS is absolutely as perfect as they come!

Though an early edged weapon and no doubt worn often by its owner, the scabbard has held up remarkably well. The shell remains straight, void of any hits, dings, creases, or splits. The factory chemical bluing process is excellent, to even include 15% of the original period protective lacquer shown near the upper fitting. And speaking of fittings, both upper and lower nickel components on this scabbard are in exceptional condition, exhibiting very minor surface wear. The hardware remains tight to the shell and held securely in place with the proper manufacture’s original screws. Through the upper fitting ring is shown the 2-piece hanger that this scabbard came with. The Overhoff clip is a little later vintage and plated steel. It was very common that these hangers became wore out and had to be replaced from time to time.

We finish up with the blade. When it comes to a Boker, the blade is what it is all about. And this one is truly a beauty! It remains full length, straight, void of any buffing, sharpening, tipping or pitting. The lower cutting edge 3″ from the tip has a fraction of a nail catcher. It’s so tiny that it wasn’t even possible to show it in the photos and barely worth mentioning. This is a factory ground Rohm blade. Even as such the craftsman crossgrained the reverse of this blade after completely removing the Ernst Rohm dedication and signature. The re-surface job was done with precision, and exceptionally smooth. Now take a look at the obverse of this blade, because it is absolutely beautiful. A wonderful grain graces this blade from the lower crossguard  all the way to the tip. When it comes to the Meine Ehre heist Treue (My Honor is Loyalty) motto, that really say it all on this gorgeous blade! It just doesn’t get any darker than what you are seeing here! On the reverse the small double oval with tree logo is ¾ intact, with the grinding procedure taking out the one area.

There you have it. Certainly not enough of these to go around. Here is your opportunity!   $8500.00
