NSDAP Gorget – G251

These are always an impressive display for ones collection, and quite popular with collectors. The plaque itself is in good shape as you can see, with light amounts of wear and a undisturbed patina over the obverse. On the reverse the dark green felt backing is pretty much intact, exhibiting some small areas of wear. As for the chain, while the links show the same darkening throughout, some of the connectors have been soldered as shown in one photo. Additionally, there are 3 links RZM stamped, with 2/3 being RZM M1/128, and the other RZM M1/120. So, somewhere along the line this chain has been repaired. Whether it was period done or post war, that’s unknown. If that repair perhaps spoils it for you, perhaps this won’t. These NSDAP gorgets will sell up to $2000 in some instances. This one; SOLD
