Early Stormtrooper’s Dagger by Heller – D997

Of the handful of edged weapon manufactures who put out blades with super dark mottos, nobody did it any better than the firm of Gebruder Heller. Here is a sweet M33 in this offering.

The handle to this SA which was produced during the 1934 introductory period, is in excellent condition. It remains void of any cracks, chips, splits, fractures, or major pressure marks. This no doubt is due to the fact that it at one time it had a period protective clear lacquer over it’s surface. As you can see in the photos that there are bits and specks of that product still clinging to the wood in various spots. Although certainly not common with all SA dagger grips, as collectors we see this often enough, and in particular with handles that are well preserved over time as this one is. A beautiful toned nickel silver eagle has been expertly place straight and flush, just below the centerline of the obverse. At the top of the front side, a fine looking SA runes button displays excellent detail and silvering. Like the emblems, both crossguards have taken on an attractive muted golden hue over their surfaces.

A decent scabbard accompanies this fine looking SA. The shell remains straight, void of any bends, hits, splits, or dings. On the obverse, the light brown anodizing has held up good, and still displays strong at 85%. On the reverse side you can see that it has thinned a bit from the time that the dagger was carried. These early SA’s at times we have to remember were worn on almost a daily basis. And of course the scabbards bore the brunt and evidence of that fact. Both upper and lower nickel fitting are in very nice shape, and held securely by the properly factory dome head screws.

As for the blade…………..SCHWEET!!!

A good looking early nickel silver Stormtrooper’s Dagger, with an exceptional blade and killer dark motto!  SOLD
