SMF FJ Gravity Knife – D996

This listing is for an extremely beautiful FJ knife which was manufactured by the famous Luftwaffe edged weapon producing firm of SMF. The gorgeous oak grip plates are nicely matched, and display a nice array of dark grain flowing in each section and one side shows a tiger striped grain. They are tightly riveted to the body of the knife, and void of any damage or missing material. As shown, the plating to the head, lever, and neck ring is in great condition void any major issues. Both the blade function and that of the lever, is very smooth with light pressure exerted to the spring. Additionally, the blade fully extends, lock, and retracts properly. The same for the marlin spike which is shown with the sick eagle Waffenamt stamp. Finally, the blade shows great craftsmanship and void any chips or major aging. There is a light sharpening that took place along the cutting edge and the back side of the tip, probably done by its original owner to make it more functional. Additionally, you can clearly see the burnished SMF seated king trademark is still intact on the obverse.  A nice example of a Type 1, FJ paratrooper’s knife.  SOLD
