Luftwaffe Fighting Knife – D822

This is a so called “Luftwaffe Fighting Knife”, in decent overall condition. Both oak grip plates are in good shape, and tightly riveted to the spine. The scabbard to this knife exhibits period factory paint, rating 85%. On the reverse of the shell the checked surface 2 piece spring clip is in place, and functions fine. There is what looks like a property stamp #19, just to the left of the rivet at the throat opening. As for the blade, it remains tight in the crossguard, full length, with a decent matte finish. As typical for these combat knives, the blade does show use, age, and light sharpening. Lastly, it is properly Waffenamt stamped with a sick eagle displaying the #5. SOLD
