Scarce Crimp Catch HJ Buckle Variation by Assmann – B165

Well, maybe not what some would call rare, but I’ve certainly not see this configuration with an early Hitler Youth buckle prior. The base metal for this buckle is aluminum construction, which exhibits excellent detail for such a soft metal. The overall condition remains excellent, with just a slight depression on the top fold. Other than that, it remains in beautiful shape. On the reverse the prong bar shows a little bit of curvature, as this buckle was lightly worn by it’s youth owner. In the center is what is called a “crimp catch”, the component which makes this buckle different from most HJ’s. Finally, in relief at the catch end are the RZM contract numbers M4/39, for the firm who manufactured this item during the Reich; Assmann. You don’t see these HJ crimp catch buckles all that often. And the condition of this one puts it over the top. $375.00
