3rd Reich Navy Dagger by Eickhorn – D1237

Offering an excellent solid Kriegsmarine dagger in this listing which was manufactured by the famous Carl Eickhorn edged weapon firm. Have a look.

A beautiful off white Trolon over wood grip begins the description of this very nice officer’s Eick navy dagger. The handle is in fine condition throughout, to include the double strand decorative brass wire which is tightly wrapped around it. The metal components consisting of the pommel and that what can be seen to the crossguard, both project a fair amount of factory gilt remaining on their surfaces. As shown, wrapped around the upper handle section and the crossguard is the original portapee which has been on this edged weapon since day one. It does show wear and age as you can see in the photos. The complete hilt on this navy dirk is nice and tight, with the pommel facing the outward position. This is always a challenge as most collectors are aware of when it comes to these navy daggers.

A fine scabbard accompanies this dagger. The shell remains fairly straight throughout, with just a few bumps here and there. The period fire gilt is beautiful and remains very strong at 95%. The scabbard bands are in place and hold the hanger rings properly. 2 side mounted screws secure the throat.

And finally, the blade. It is straight, tight within the hilt, full length, void of any tipping, sharpening, or cutting-edge chips. The plating is beautiful on this blade, save for just a slight amount of surface age at the tip. A killer dark burnished fouled anchor etch sets the plating off in a stunning effect!

A nice 3rd Reich Kriegs dagger all the way through.  $1695.00
