3rd Reich Kriegsmarine Dagger by Eickhorn – D985

This is an exceptional Nazi era produced Kriegs dirk which was manufactured by the renown edged weapon firm of Carl Eickhorn. The off white Trolon over wood core grip is in fine condition, void of any chips, crack, flakes or missing material. Typical for this company, the grip is nicely wrapped with a double strand of twisted copper wire, which is firmly tight in place. As you can see, the period reef tied toned portapee is laced around the crossguard section, where no doubt it’s been forever. The blade release button is present on the reverse, and functions properly to remove the dagger from the scabbard. Lastly in regard to the hilt, the eagle pommel has exceptionally nice detail and features to this component.

The scabbard to this Eickhorn navy is in good order. For the most part it remains straight, void of any bends, creases, hits, or splitting. This shell has excellent period fire gilding to it’s surface, with traces of the original factory lacquer present. Both scabbard rings are tight to the shell and hold the hanger rings properly. 2 dome head screws secure the throat.

And lastly we finish up with the blade. It truly is about as mint as they come. With an absolutely killer double etched black etch panels featuring the design of a fouled anchor and sea life plants. The 1935-41 stamped Eickhorn squirrel trademark proclaims the edged weapon firm responsible to manufacturing this gorgeous blade: Carl Eickhorn.

A super nice Eickhorn Kriegs dagger, with the look collectors love!  $1895.00
