3rd Reich Fireman Officer’s Bayonet & Complete Rig – D961

This is an excellent complete 1930’s, 3rd Reich  bayonet and rig for an officer serving in Germany’s Nazi era fire department. The set consists of a short bayonet which remains in very nice condition. Both grip plates are beautifully checked, and tightly riveted to the spine. The plating to the crossguard and pommel has held up decently, with just a few areas of slight lifting. As for the blade, it’s about as mint as it gets for one of these bayonets. On the reverse is shown a distributor’s name which I’m not familiar with. The scabbard to this edged weapon is in fine shape, with the original period black enamel rating 85%. At the top of the shell is good condition leather frog. The black period dye while showing average wear, still remains nicely stitched and complete. Wrapped around the mid section of the hanger is a fireman’s knot in period tie. And finally with this set is included a wide officer’s belt with buckle. The 44” leather is in good condition, exhibiting typical light wear and use. It is complete with the proper 7 hole adjuster, adjustable prong bar, and both keepers. Attached the opposite end of the tongue is a 30s style round buckle, designated for and officer serving in the Hannover district of Germany.

A nice complete Nazi era fireman’s bayonet, with all the extra to go with it. $625.00
