2nd Model Navy Dagger by WKC – D936

Offering a 3rd Reich navy dagger in average condition throughout. The off white Trolon grip over a wood center core is in good condition, being void of any cracks, splits, or missing material. Additionally, the double strand decorative brass wire is all in place, and tightly wrapped around the circumference of the handle. Both the pommel and crossguard have turned extremely dark with age, as nothing has been cleaned nor polished on this edged weapon since being returned as a souvenir of WWII. While the pommel and hilt remain tight, there is a little play in the crossguard due to the normal shrinkage of the grip core. The proper blade release button is in place, and works properly.

The scabbard to this navy dirk is just black as all get out, and perfectly matches that of the hilt components. Remarkably, the shell remains straight, void of any bends, creases, splits, or dings. Both scabbard bands are in place, and hold the hanger rings properly. Two factory screws secure the throat.

And lastly the blade. It remains straight, full length, void of any tipping, sharpening or cutting edge chips. The plated plain blade exhibits some darkening and spotting throughout, though we as collectors all have certainly seen much worse. Up against the butt plate the typical red felt washer which this edged weapon typically used. Finally, the knight head logo trademark for the WKC edge weapon firm is shown on the obverse ricasso.

A solid Nazi era Kriegsmarine dagger for a budget price. SOLD
