2nd Model Luftwaffe Officer’s Dagger by Krebs – D621

Though 2nd Model Luftwaffe daggers by the edged weapon firm of Carl Julius Krebs show as being common on the rarity list, I honestly cannot remember ever having this maker before. On top of that, it’s one of the few manufactured who elected the extra process step of plating their blades, as opposed to polishing them. This is a good looking solid example of a Luft officer’s dagger.

The off white handle to this dagger is in fine condition, being void of any chips, splits or cracks. It does show a little bit of surface scuffing, but that’s about it. Tightly wrapped around the outside is a double strand of decorative wire, all in place. The typical airplane gray pommel and crossguard exhibit nice detail throughout, with traces of gilt still remaining on both sides of the swastikas. These white grip Lufts are kind of neat, as you don’t see them all that often.

A near perfect scabbard accompanies this edged weapon. It’s absolutely straight, void of any hits, dents, or creases, with a beautiful factory gray finish over it’s entire surface. Both scabbard bands are in place, as are the hanger rings. 2 untouched flat head screws hold the throat securely to the shell. An excellent scabbard to this 2nd model Luft.

The blade to this edged weapon is straight, void of any sharpening or cutting edge chips, with a decent plated surface running down both sides. At the very end of the tip it looks to be slightly rounded. But measuring it the blade it still remains full length with the center spine running to the middle of the tip properly. There are a couple small ticks and scuffs to the surface, but for a plated blade it has survived amazingly well. On the reverse ricasso is the circled “K” logo of the Carl Julius Krebs edged weapon firm.

A decent and complete 2nd Model Luft, in collectible condition.         SOLD
