2nd Model Luftwaffe Officer’s Dagger by Eickhorn – D1111

When it comes to 3rd Reich edged weapons, everyone loves those which were manufactured by the Eickhorn firm. Here is a beautiful uncleaned example in this listing.

An attractive grip begins this Luft dagger off in fine order. Being a little darker orange on the obverse than on the reverse, this handle projects a beautiful contrast and appeal throughout. The Trolon material remains in exceptional condition, void of any noticeable hits, splits, chips, or missing material. Typical for this edged weapon manufacture, the handle is wrapped with a springy strand of decorative wire. All of that material is tightly set into the grooves, and securely in place. The crossguard and ferrule on this hilt is black as all get out, and exactly the look that some collectors love to see! By now you’ve also noticed the pommel is very much the same way. Totally encrusted with a dark rich patina that has no doubt settled over the original factory burnishing. Giving the hilt components even that much of a darker look to them. And to top that off, look at the period gilt that this pommel still retains! What a sweet look to this complete hilt assembly on this Luft dagger to say the least!

The scabbard to this Eickhorn 2nd model remains straight, void of any hits, dings, or creases, with a gorgeous black patina covering both the obverse and reverse sides. Both scabbard bands are firmly in place, and hold the hanger rings properly. 2 recessed flat head screws secure the throat.

As for the blade, and as mentioned, the name Eickhorn says is like no others…………………….Mint!

What an absolutely Sweet dagger! Highly recommended if you want just one 2nd model Luft…………….. or you have several already.    SOLD
