2nd Model Luftwaffe Officer’s Dagger by Eickhorn – D1096

Offering an untouched 2nd Model Luft dagger, with the uncommon last style logo that the Eickhorn firm used at the very end of 3rd Reich edged weapon production. That being the over the shoulder squirrel trademark. The pumpkin colored grip to this dagger is in good condition for the most part. There are a couple ticks to the Trolon top rung both fore and aft, and that seems to be pretty much it. The handle while more orange on the obverse, you can see that turns to a yellow on the reverse. Both the pommel and crossguard are shown with a dark patina over their surfaces. As nothing has been cleaned on this dagger since being returned home as a souvenir from WWII. Wrapped around the lower ferrule section is a 23cm flying corps portapee in proper tie. As pictured it shows a fair amount of wear and age.

The textbook Eickhorn scabbard to this dagger is black as all get out. It remains straight, void of any hits, dents, dings, creases, or splits. Both Eickhorn style specific scabbard bands are in place, and hold the hanger rings properly. 2 flush mounted side screws secure the throat.

Finally the blade. It remains full length, straight, drawn to a needle point tip, and void of any sharpening, tipping, or cutting edge chips. It does have some surface darkening as you’ve notice, though not that horrible for an untouched edged weapon as this. On the reverse is the stamped squirrel trademark seldom encountered on these Luft daggers, utilized toward the end of the era of Nazi dagger production.

A solid 2nd model Luft dagger manufactured by the King of Solingen edged weapons, Carl Eickhorn.       SOLD
