2nd Model Luft Dagger by Holler – D1185

This listing is for a decent example of a 2nd model Luft. A beautiful unique toned grip begins the hilt of this edged weapon. The obverse is the original white while on the reverse displays orange tones as the grip has changed from oxidation, laying on something or just imperfections in the material. How neat is that! It is void of any major damage or missing material and wrapped tightly around the handle is the typical springy decorative wire that this edged weapon firm normally used. The pommel has taken on a nice dark patina and some of the original gold gilt can still be seen.

A fine scabbard accompanies this Holler Luft dolch however it’s a Eickhorn shell. It remains straight, void of any bends, splits, hits, or dings. As shown, the surface has taken on rich black patina with minor oxidation in spots and the tip.

The blade to this 2nd model is in great condition. It remains straight, full length, void of any tipping, buffing, or sharpening. There is some light aging here and there but it’t barely even worth mentioning. On the reverse is nicely etched and burnished the thermometer logo of the F.W. Holler edged weapon firm.

While not a perfectly matched dagger in regard to the blade / scabbard components for the purest collector, this is exactly how this edged weapon came to us. That aside, it is in very nice condition overall, with a budget price for perhaps a new or young collector just getting started. $465.00
